My First Mother's Day

This time last year, we were heading back from your Aunt Megan's wedding. I was very large! This Mother's Day you are here, 10 months old already and such a sweet little guy.

The morning started with Daddy coming in with your brothers and you. You were holding a card (so cute) and your brothers had got me breakfast in bed. It was McDonald's hot cakes, sausage and OJ on a cookie sheet. Camden told me it was his idea and then he brought me the paper. It was a nice morning! Daddy took care of you almost the entire day which I appreciated. I got to go out alone for 90 minutes which was also very much appreciated. Its not that I did not want to be with you-Mommy just needs some alone time every now and then. Your schedule was all off-you took three naps yesterday!

We met Nana and Papa for dinner at my favorite place-the Outback. Man, do you love your Nana! I think she is crazy about you as well.

It was a nice first Mother's Day!

On to another topic-you are now 10 months old. How did that happen?! Here are some pictures from Friday.

You get confused when I bring out the giant Mickey Mouse. You bit his foot and played with his nose. I need to get you a bigger size onesie so I can take your 11 and 12 month pictures in a white shirt. This one is getting too tight!

Your top right tooth finally broke through so I think you are feeling a little better. You hate teething-so does Mommy. You get so snotty and are very unhappy. I took you to the doctor because I was sure you had a sinus infection. They said it was just a cold. I bet they think I am one paranoid Mommy!

You are awake from your nap so I am signing off. In fact you are in your crib, on all 4s, rocking back and forth trying to crawl. You little stinker!

New Look!

I figured it was time to redo this blog to make it less baby like and more little boy like. I hope it looks ok! You are growing up far too fast. Tomorrow it will be 10 months since you came into this world. I love you so much! More later-if you would ever nap more than 40 minutes!

One Busy Boy!

As I have mentioned before, you are NOT a lover of naps. I think you get this from your father. The weird thing is, when Daddy is home, you take decent naps. I wish you would do this all the time. I think you just want to hang out with me so you don't sleep for me!

You are almost 9 months old and I can't believe how fast time is going. You are a lot of fun! I call you Wiggles because you won't sit still. When I try to change your diaper, you try to roll over. It is almost impossible!

You are sitting up on your own now and it is fabulous! I can do something while you are on the floor playing. You have also discovered that sitting up in the bath and splashing is SO much fun!

You are trying so hard to crawl. You look like you are swimming! You get very mad that you can't do it, so you start crying. You eventually just roll where you want to go.

You are working on getting on all 4s!

You are trying to talk. We are pretty sure you are saying Nana and the other night, clear as day you said Dada when Daddy was feeding you. I am not sure why you have not said Mama since I am always with you! We will keep working on that!

You have 4 teeth and two more are showing through your top gums. You are not a happy boy when you are teething. To top it off, you have had a bad cold for two weeks now. I think it is finally getting out of your system. You have had lots of green snot and you absolutely HATE having it sucked out of your nose. You also hate having your nose or face wiped.

I love seeing how you are learning new things. You are fascinated by the simplest things. This morning you loved playing with a nail file and a hair pic! You laugh at a lot of things I do and it is the BEST sound I have ever heard. You are incredibly ticklish which is also fun!

You have been developing separation anxiety with me. When you see me and I am not holding you, you get very mad. It breaks my heart. Thankfully you are in good hands when I have to go somewhere. Your Nana and Aunt Noelle take very good care of you! You are so lucky to have so many people that love and adore you!

We have been busy with the house up for sale. We also had the other house picked out but unfortunately that is not going to be our new house. Hopefully we will find something even better!

You are so loved sweet boy. I hope you always stay as happy and sweet as you are now!

I need to update this more. You just need to start napping better!

8 Months

I am learning that the older I get, the faster time goes. I can't believe you are 8 months old already. Where is the time going? When you woke up screaming last night, I got you out of your crib and rocked you. As I did, I noticed how big you are getting and it made me cry. I love your personality and how much fun you are. You are growing and changing every day but it also makes me so sad to see just how fast time is going. I love you so much and you bring so much happiness into our world.

You have been sleeping through the night for two weeks now. The past two nights you have woken up at 9 screaming, but I am not sure why. I think the first night was your teeth and last night you got both legs stuck into one pajama leg. You now LOVE a certain binky which is good and bad. The mustache one you loved got eaten by Mickey. Thankfully you have some others you will use. You refuse the 6 month and older ones, only the 0-6 month ones. I know I should not be giving them to you but they make you happy and I think they help your teeth. I give them to you at nap time but not at bed time. The past two nights I have given it to you when you woke up screaming. It comforts you so I am ok with it.

You have started rejecting your third nap which is really hard because you usually get up around 2 from your second nap. 5 hours is a very long time for you to go without sleeping before bedtime. When 6pm rolls around you lose your mind, you want your food and your crib. The past three days you have taken a nap at 9 and 1 so I am wondering if this will be your pattern. We will see.

Your brothers are so in love with you. They fight over who you are paying attention to. On St. Patricks Day, Camden woke up, kissed you good morning and then said, "I am so lucky to have you." It was very sweet. I hope they always love you this much but I know there will be many fights. I just hope you are all close like I am with my siblings. You get so excited to see them, as well as other people you know. You love Nana, and you are getting used to Papa. You get so excited when Daddy gets home and you love seeing me when I get you up in the morning. It is very cute. You make us laugh all the time!

Yesterday I told you that Elmo was on your diaper. You laughed and laughed. I said Elmo again, and you laughed even more. It was hilarious! For some reason this is not letting me upload the video. You are so much fun! I think you finally have the hang of sitting up on your own. You dont last long but you are doing it. You REALLY want to crawl and so far this is how far you have got:

You keep rolling all over the floor and you are really trying to get places! It looks like you are skydiving :)

Today was the first bottle I switched you back to Allimentum. I really hope you do well on it! It smells HORRID but you drink it so I guess it is ok.  You were SO good yesterday. You took two 1 hour naps, and you went to the store with me without screaming or making a peep. I enjoyed my time with you.

You will be up from your nap soon so I will sign off for now.

Teeth and Sleep

Oh sweet boy, you are in so much pain with your two front teeth coming in. I can't imagine you are comfortable with those trying to break through the gums. You are not napping well which I am hoping is just because you are in pain.

Speaking of sleep, I have to say the way you sleep is adorable. I don't think I posted a picture of it before so I am going to do that now. SO. CUTE. Love that your butt is up in the air. I have no idea how that is comfortable! Nana said I did the same thing when I was a baby!

7 Months

Once upon a time, I had endless amounts of free time. For some reason I thought this would continue after you arrived. I thought you would nap for hours (people say babies sleep ALL the time. Apparently, they were lying.) When you do nap, there are endless amounts of things to do. Especially since we are about to put our house up for sale. Also, your brothers, this house, and your Dad keep me very busy! I thought I would be able to write on this blog every day, or at least a few times a week. Here we are, almost 2 months since my last entry. Ugh! Thankfully I am able to write things down on my iPhone that you do. I record what new foods you eat, the cute things you do and the milestones you achieve.

So here we are, it being almost March. This means that you are almost 8 months old. Seriously, I can't believe how much you have grown and how fast time is going by. It seems like I was just pregnant with you but now you are a big, happy boy who brings so many smiles to those you come in contact with. So many people love you! Strangers stop me and tell me how handsome you are and how they love your big blue eyes. You truly are adorable!

The past few nights you have slept 11-12 hours straight. I am SO thankful for this as you have only done this a handful of times in your short life. It is making Mommy feel more human again. I really hope this is the start of a consistent pattern! You are sleeping in your crib and you are doing pretty well with your naps. You usually take a decent morning nap, a short afternoon nap, and then a longer afternoon nap. In the next few months you will be down to two naps which will hopefully be two really good ones!

You enjoy oatmeal and peaches. You sometimes like sweet potatoes, but other than that, you are not really digging anything. I am worried you inherited my eating habits. When you don't want something, you turn your head, seal your lips, and sometimes you even smack the spoon away! You are stubborn like both of your parents. I need to get you back on the veggies but I am worried how you will respond to them. You threw up peas ALL day the last time you had them. You seemed ok with carrots but then you screamed for 2 days and broke out in a rash around your mouth. You are one confusing little boy!

You are trying to sit up on your own and you can do it for a little while before you fall over. You are also in the beginning stages of crawling. You lay on your tummy and kick your legs. I really do not want you to start crawling yet, but I know it is bound to happen soon. I would appreciate it if you stop growing up. Please.

I love how excited you get when you see me. When I go to get you from the crib, you give me that big smile with those two bottom teeth. It makes everything all better. Your top two teeth are coming through which is making you crabby, but I understand how that must be painful. Your hair is all sorts of crazy. Daddy has been giving you mohawks which is ridiculously adorable.

I am finding it very hard to continuously entertain you. You love your saucer, but I worry you are in it far too much. The funny thing is, you act as if it is something you have never seen before. You are fascinated with all the gadgets. You really love getting the blue tray, chewing on it, then throwing it across the room. You love your activity gym and you SCREAM at the sight of the light up star. A happy scream-as if you are just seeing it for the first time. You make me laugh!

You are a sweet baby boy and I love seeing how your personality is developing!

Happy New Year!

It is hard to believe 2012 has come and gone. It was a good and crazy year filled with lots of memories, and of course, your birth!  You are almost 6 months and I am taking in every single second I can with you. Time is fleeting and I am going to miss these days. You are adorable, so much fun and the sunshine in my days. I love you so much! I can't get over how cute you are. Maybe I am biased since I am your mom, but I don't think so since people stop and tell me how adorable you are all the time! Even your brother Torrin has started saying you are the cutest baby he has ever seen!

You are doing great in your crib! It was a very hard transition for both you and me, but you have the hang of it and are taking better naps, and sleeping better at night!  On December 30th you slept from 7:30-6:30. It would have been glorious if your brother Torrin had not gotten up at 2 am that night complaining of something in his eye!

Yesterday was New Years Eve and we only had you because your brothers were with their mom. Nana and Papa said they would watch you so Daddy and I could go to a movie. We went to see This is 40 and I have not laughed that hard in a long time. I so needed that!  After the movie we called Nana and Papa to see how you were, and they told us you had been crying. I heard you screaming in the background so we decided to come get you. You were not happy and you made Nana very sad! Its so hard not knowing what is wrong with you since you can't talk and tell us what is wrong. I'm assuming it was your tooth since that is something that has been bugging you for awhile. Your bottom right tooth is coming in and you are drooling and chomping on everything!  I felt your tooth and saw the top of it on December 23rd. If you take medicine you go back to being your happy little self, but until then you scream at the top of your lungs!

After we picked you up from Nana and Papa's, Daddy and I went to dinner with you. Thankfully you were all smiles and very well behaved. I never know how dinner out is going to go with you, but it all worked out. You really wanted Mommy's drink! Here are some pictures from last night:

You wanted to order off the menu!

This picture makes me laugh.

Our last picture of 2012!

When we came home, Daddy gave you a bath and read you a story. You went right to sleep and made it all the way to 4 am. I fed you 4 ounces and you went back to sleep until 8:15!  I worry that you are not on a strict schedule but you do eat every 4 hours and generally wake up and eat at the same time every day so I guess that is good.

Before New Years Eve was your first Christmas! You are not sitting up yet so we held you and you watched us open your presents. I think you were confused!  I will write more about that soon! I love you baby boy! I look forward to 2013 with you!
